better wrap-up 2011.
i wrote lots of Jux features in 2011, with more coming in 2012. you should subscribe at once.
i painted many hecksagons. they'll be in a gallery show in SF later this month.

they are inspired by hex signs from Dutch folk art, in case you didn't know.

i also started this blog, SEE LISTEN, where we pair one song with one piece of art. it was mentioned on Lost at E Minor, where I also did some guest blogging last fall. Here's a sample post:

Jeff and I were both invited to contribute art for this super cool zine, Midnight Snack.

aaand i continued to draw Free Crappy Portraits for strangers worldwide. i've done well over 200 of these crapsterpieces.

happy new year! we'll make it a good one.

p.s. this is my dream office.

i have the honor of interviewing some incredible artists for Juxtapoz. the lastest was Jo Jackson in march.

Johanna and her husband are hand-making the entire contents of their home in L.A.
love this handmade measuring tape.

the issue is full of revolutionary artists like Emory Douglas, whose work is on the cover.

april's issue is all about legends of street art with Margaret Kilgallen on the cover, and a reprint of her '99 interview with my friend Liz Pepin. i didn't write any features for this issue but was lucky to get a sneak preview.

it's a small narwhal world

my friend helped his friend (karen) move into a new place with new roommates. my friend noticed this narwhal in the kitchen and knew it was mine. i sold it at open studios last fall to a nice guy who said "i must have that narwhal." turns out he's karen's new roommate. also, i'd forgotten I'd made a housewarming painting for karen about 5 years ago, so her new place has two paintings by me. just a crazy coincidence i had to share. narwhals forever.

This year's Art Party in San Jose was once again full of pink walls and chandeliers!

Here's the installation of my work from last year in the host's daughter Charlotte's bathroom.

Charlotte is my biggest collector. This year's installation was in her bedroom.

Me and Charlotte, she curated this year's exhibit.

Charlotte's work was also on view (see dog and abstract on right).

She's 7.

Charlotte and her pal enjoyed messing with Jeff.

There was some live entertainment at the Art Party including a guy with a blow torch.

P.S. Friday night was movie night out my window, projected the wall next door. Nobody said "when".
